CREALOGIX Education Forum 2019: “The Skilling Challenge”
EF19-2-1024x617

The CREALOGIX Digital Learning Education Forum took place for the thirteenth time. During the conference on 24 September 2019, more than 300 participants were given an insight into the next generation of vocational education and training. After all, digital teaching and learning is a major innovation booster.

The Swiss vocational education and training system is a global leader. However, it faces major challenges as a result of digitisation. The expert audience at CREALOIGX Digital Learning's conference "The Skilling Challenge" was motivated by the question of what vocational education and training will look like in the future. Existing job profiles must be adapted to modern work equipment and processes, and key competencies for the age of digitisation must be efficiently conveyed. At the same time, new technologies are opening up opportunities for Swiss education providers here and abroad.

Education and training accelerate transformation

In his keynote speech, Marc Weder, Head of the Education Clients Division at Microsoft Switzerland, highlighted global developments in the education sector and spoke about his own experiences and his assessments for the future. Sam Notz, a Swiss entrepreneur with his own company in China, spoke about the potential: "With our mostly free-of-charge, but high-quality educational offer in Switzerland, we have a privilege over the rest of the world, and therefore also an obligation." He highlighted the areas in which there is room for further development for Swiss education providers. One of these areas is the shift from learning content to media, which the young generation carries with them on a daily basis: a polymechanic apprentice at ETH Zurich demonstrated how the Swiss Learning Hub from CREALOGIX is successfully used as an app at ETH Zurich for basic vocational training in order to determine learning needs and pace individually. Peter Stapfer from Fintelligence presented the use of the solution in the financial sector. The Swiss Learning Hub is successfully used by bank client advisors to obtain certification.

World Café and Product Insights

In two sessions, the participants were able to interact with eleven different partners of the Swiss Learning Hub. The spectrum ranged from digital teaching materials and new tools for creating them to solutions with virtual realities or artificial intelligence. Urs Widmer, Senior Vice President Digital Learning at CREALOGIX, says:

"Digitisation also offers great support in education and training. In combination with the central concept of learning with the head, heart and hand, learners can tap their full potential. Switzerland's successful education system benefits from this, as do companies that use digital learning platforms."
